On August 29, 2017, SIKO Trans made the first sod of its new logistics center in Sofia. It is located in a strategic location, in close proximity to the airport, at 27 Nedelcho Bonchev Street.
The official ceremony was attended by colleagues, friends and SIKO employees. On the occasion of the event, Polixena Krastanova, executive director of NSBS (National Association of Bulgarian Freight Forwarders), presented Kolyo Doynov, owner and manager of SIKO Trans, with a congratulatory address on behalf of the association and wished good health, success and satisfied customers.
"After much effort, we were able to launch a long-desired project. It took us two years from the moment we bought the land to today's first sod, but now we plan to finish the construction in 12 months and by this time next year we will have welcomed the first customers in our new warehouse and office building," said Kolyo Doynov.
The warehouse part of the new center will have an area of 4 decares, and the office building - 3 decares, and it will have five floors. The construction of the logistics center will use modern transverse slabs specially made for SIKO Trans, thanks to which the office building of the logistics center will have spacious open areas without supporting columns and beams. The warehouse is tall enough and a high rack storage system will be used. A fire extinguishing system with a sprinkler head is provided for each fire. The fire extinguishing system is an ESFR (Early Suppression Fast Response) type, which is significantly more effective than conventional ones.
"We have prepared for serious and responsible storage of all kinds of goods and cargo, being very flexible in order to be able to meet the requirements and needs of all our customers - current and future," Kolyo Doynov added.
